Kennard and Avery gave us a passage to look at and pray about as a team - 1 Samuel 3
These are questions that were given for us to think about:
1. Why did I apply for this trip?
2. To what extent, if any, do you feel chosen by God to be here today, an intricate and important part of this team?
3. Why would God choose you?
4. What qualities do I possess that will enable me to be a "fisher-man" in God's lake?
5. Have I ever heard God call me? When?
6. Do I picture the Lord coming to me and standing there, calling my name as He did Samuel? Why or why not?

Devotionals
Unfortunately, I missed the first team meeting so wasnt able to do the devotionals at that meeting. I absolutlely love doing these devotionals together as a team, and I always take notes. So here are the notes I took for the last two devos.
Team Meeting Number 2
Philippians 2:3-11
"Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests ofothers. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but made Himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself and became obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Humility and Service
Being humble is being intentional, purposeful and doing something without bitterness. However, being a doormat is doing someting with a lack of self-respect.
We talked about how often times we will give to different organizations and often not know where our money is going or not have good knowledge of the organization we are giving to. A very valuable way of giving is with your time. Not that being generous with our money is a bad thing, not at all, but our time is very precious and it can mean the world to people who are in need.
Matthew 20-:25-28
"Jesus called them together and said, "You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and their high officials exercise authority over them. Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave— just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
Matthew 25:35-46
"For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited Me in, I needed clothes and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you came to visit Me.'
"Then the righteous will answer Him, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink? When did we see You a stranger and invite You in, or needing clothes and clothe You? When did we see You sick or in prison and go to visit You?'
"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for Me.'
"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave Me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink, I was a stranger and you did not invite Me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe Me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after Me.'
"They also will answer, 'Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help You?'
"He will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me.'
"Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
As we serve others, we serve Christ. That service will look different, but we are all called to serve.
We should begin serving now in the small ways as a representative of the Kingdom of God - and do so in humility, giving God the glory and praise.
Team Meeting Number 3
John 17:11, 20-21
"I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave Me—so that they may be one as we are one...My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in Me and I am in You. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that You have sent Me."
What does it mean to have unity?
-Having the same purpose and goal
-Being same-minded, not of selfish gain.
Philippians 2:1-4
"If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others. "
-Getting along with eachother, no strife
-Showing God's love for eachother
-Having intimacy - spending time together, having that same connection with Jesus Christ.
-Encouragement, constructive criticism - caring about each other enough to speak truth
-Union of affection - for God and for one another (as affection for God)
-Being an example of God's love, by loving eachother, others, and yourself
John 13:34-35
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another."
-Body Language
-Recognizing each other's needs and looking out for eachother
-Having the joy and peace of Christ when serving
-Putting other people before yourself -this is definitely more of a challenged when we are feeling challenged, but this is something we are called to do despite circumstance. We often have days or weeks where we just arent feeling it, but as Christians we can't have off days.
-Having a positive attitude
-Having unity in prayer

I have been giving out passages of encouragement to my team members and I just wanted to share them all right here :)
Psalm 57:9-11"I will praise You, O Lord, among the nations; I will sing of You among the peoples. For great is Your love, reaching to the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be over all the earth."
Romans 15:5-6"May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Romans 5:20-21"The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
